What Tondo is

One artwork a day, drawn from the open-access collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Every work is public domain. The app is free, carries no advertising, and paywalls nothing.

Things people ask

Do I need an account? No. The app works without one, and works you keep are stored on your device. Signing in with Google or Apple moves your collection to an account so it survives a new phone.

How do I delete what you have? Open Your corner — the small ring at the top right of every screen. There is a delete control there for your account or for this device, whichever you have. Details are on the privacy page.

An artwork looks wrong, or the note has an error. Please write. Say which day it was and what you saw. Museum catalogue records occasionally carry mistakes and we would rather fix ours than keep them.

Can I suggest a work? Yes. That is the most useful mail this address gets.

If something is broken

Tell us what you tapped, what happened, and what you expected instead. If it is visual, a screenshot settles it faster than a paragraph. There is no ticket system and no automated reply; you will hear back from a person.
